How to Feel Productive

Sitting around doing nothing or just watching TV never appeals to me. Like many retirees, I raise my hand to help several non-profit organizations. This way, I can keep on using and polishing computer skills and connecting with people. Both the work and the social connections are satisfying.

Helping by Editing

Some of these examples will also be found on the "In Print" page of this website. Organizations love to get some free editing from their members. Two of the newsletters I edit are tied to stamp collecting, but one is for a local group of radio controlled airplane fliers. I knew almost nothing about this hobby when I raised my hand to help, but over the past two years I have learned a lot!
